Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr said Monday the agency will drop a proposed Biden administration plan to ban broadband internet "bulk billing" for residents of apartments, condominiums and public housing.

Brendan Carr says the the proposal would have raised internet prices for apartments tenants. His predecessor argued the opposite and said bulk billing arrangements led to unwanted costs.

The commission’s new chair announced Monday that the potential rule is dead, in a move applauded by apartment associations.
