The group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the UT Mascot to stay home today instead of appearing on the sidelines at the Cotton Bowl.

Just a day before Texas takes on Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl Classic, PETA is urging Greg Sankey to block Bevo’s scheduled appearance at the College Football Playoff semifinal.

But, on Friday, the Longhorns announced that Bevo had been freed. He’s going to Arlington and is expected to be on the sidelines at AT&T Stadium on January 10 when Texas plays Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. It’s Bevo, Jerry World and the College Football Playoffs. It doesn’t get any better than that.

If Jerry Jones loves anything more than his beloved Dallas Cowboys, it’s certainly having bigger and better things. AT&T Stadium, affectionately known as Jerry World, is no exception. Texas is known for its grandeur, and this stadium is no different. It’s massive, as everything in Texas tends to be.

Texas' live longhorn mascot will be making the trip to Arlington for the Longhorns ' Cotton Bowl clash at AT&T Stadium against Ohio State. "Breaking: The big guy is headed to Arlington," the official Texas football social media account wrote. Bevo has been left at home for each of Texas' last two games away from Royal-Memorial Stadium.

After Bevo was barred from the sideline of the SEC Championship Game and the Peach Bowl, both at Atlanta's Mercedes Benz Stadium, Longhorns fans are thrilled the UT mascot will be back on the sideline for the Cotton Bowl.
