There are very few stock model Ts and model As. The collection of vehicles includes early models of cars that you really don't see anywhere else, many early brands other than Ford. Many are commercially modified for unusual uses, like snow tracks, etc.
Kids are more than welcome, but it is adult oriented. Kids would not be allowed on cars and displays. A six to 12 year old would appreciate the displays it they are interested in cars.
Hi! We're going to be in Detroit in August on a Tuesday and Wednesday and I know my Dad would absolutely love this museum- as its the summer, will the museum be open then?

I agree with the others. It is staffed by volunteers so I would check the website or call in advance. It is worth the visit
