Dharmesh Vyas, MD, PhD, is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, as well as sports medicine fellowships at UPMC, Klinikum Rechts Der Isar in Munich, Germany, and Centre Albert Trillat in Lyon, France. Dr. Vyas is the head team physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL team and has been recognized by Best Doctors, Inc. on the Best Doctors in America 2015-2016 list in Pittsburgh Magazine. He is also a consulting orthopedic surgeon for Duquesne University and Carnegie Mellon University. He specializes in the care of young and experienced athletes, and trains residents and fellows in sports medicine.
